We hope you are all well and keeping safe. Currently there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 among our staff or student body. As a school, we are following the daily Government Guidance regarding COVID-19 and acting both proportionally and rationally with our response.
We are currently experiencing staff shortages, due to the need to protect our most vulnerable students and staff via self-isolation. We have therefore made the decision for a partial closure of the school until we advise otherwise.
The school will be closed for Years 9, 10 and 12 from Wednesday 18th March onwards.
Students will be expected to stay at home and complete work set by class teachers. A separate letter will be sent home regarding access and setting of work to enable our students to learn remotely from home.
All students who are at home who have been advised to self-isolate will be given a Y attendance code to indicate non-attendance due to unavoidable circumstances. During the closure students in Year 9,10 & 12 will be marked with an authorised code.
As this is an increasing picture please keep an eye on the website for potential closures to further year groups in KS3 from 19 March 2020. We are trying to maintain lessons for our Year 11 and Year 13 students for as long as possible. Can I please ask our Sixth Form students to read the email from Dr Watson with further details?
