OSA Careers Week – 2-6 March

The following events will take place next week as it is National Careers Week and we’re joining in here at Spires!

Year 10 will have Work Experience all week.
Some Year 12 students will go to Cambridge to find out about admissions.
All Year 12 will have an afternoon learning about Apprenticeships.
Some Year 11 students will visit BMW to discuss applications for apprenticeships.
Speakers on IT/Technology careers, on Creative Media and on International Business are available for students from any year. For these, students need to look at the link they have via school email.
Dr Watson will give a talk for any interested parents and students in Year 7-10 on Thursday 5 March (see parentmail invitation already issued).
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) careers workshops have been offered to selected parents and students in Year 7 and 8 from under-represented backgrounds (see parentmail invitation already issued).
Year 11 students will continue with their individual interviews with the careers advisors.

Careers events happen for different students in most weeks – and careers week is not the only chance students have to find out about the workplace, about different routes into careers and about university and apprenticeship admissions. If you have any suggestions for additions to the annual careers programme, or any questions, please contact Dr Watson on jwatson@oxfordspiresacademy.org
