Year 13 Classical Civilisation A level students at the Ashmolean

Classical Civilisation is a new A level for OSA this year and 14 students are in the first group. They have to study literature texts from Ancient Greece and Rome, as well as places and artefacts important in classical culture.

On 1 October, they took part in a study day run by the Ashmolean and the Classics Faculty, and attended lectures and workshops on a range of topics from Greek theatre audiences, to coins, to pottery. They also had the chance to see the current exhibition at the Ashmolean – Last Supper in Pompeii.
