40 students in Year 11 took part in their first meeting with staff from New College, Oxford, on 26 September, as part of the College’s outreach programme, Step Up.
Misha Brazier Tope, Outreach and Communications Officer at New College, met the GCSE students as they start to think about their futures. He discussed with them what they thought about universities, what they expected of the University of Oxford in particular, and what they thought universities were looking for from applicants.
This is the first of several steps on the programme that leads towards support in Year 12 and 13. They visit the college in early March.
Year 11 are really focused on their future right now, with one-to-one careers interviews starting and many students taking part in Morrisby, the careers assessment leading to individual feedback. If your son or daughter is in Year 11 and you would like to find out more about Morrisby, please contact Dr Watson, Head of Sixth Form, on email@example.com
