‘Wicked’ was wicked!!

On Thursday 3rd of October a group of 48 Drama and Music students travelled to the sparking emerald city of Oz, via London’s Victoria Apollo Theatre.

The story begins with Galinda the good witch telling the citizens of Oz that Dorothy, with her faithful dog Toto, has killed the wicked witch of the West – to great celebrations and joy!

The story then leaps back in time and we discover the real story of the Wizard, Tin Man, Straw Man and Cowardly Lion – it tells the tale of two unlikely friends, Elphaba and Galinda, who struggle through opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, multiple frilly dresses and reactions to the Wizard of Oz’s corrupt government, and ultimately Elphaba’s public fall from grace and tragic demise!

It was a FANTASTIC evening with a gorgeous group of students whose behaviour and conduct were a credit to themselves and the school!

Look out for up and coming trips and events; House Drama – 7th November. Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (West End Theatre Trip – KS4) 4th December. Plus a KS3 Theatre Trip TBC
