OSA Student From Syria Wins National Poetry Award

Winner of The John Betjeman Prize 2017

This is a huge reason for us to celebrate at OSA, two of our young ladies have achieved great things within this year’s John Betjeman Poetry Competition.

Amineh Abou Kerech is the overall winner of the whole competition with her poem called ‘Lament for Syria’.  Jemima Webster has also accomplished amazing success and achieved the first runner up slot.

These two young ladies competed against more than 2000 entries.

I would like to congratulate both of the girls and their teacher Kate Clanchy and I am sure that their families are as proud as we all are at academy.
