Careers Interviews start for Year 11

As the end of GCSE work looms in the distance for Year 11 students, they are beginning to consider their future paths. Later in the term, on Thursday 17 October, they will have an options afternoon, looking at OSA Sixth Form courses and applications, at applying to the City of Oxford College and at finding out about apprenticeships. Almost 40 students have also registered their interest in taking part in New College’s Step Up group, and workshops for that begin in October too.

All students in Year 11 are also seeing our careers advisor, Mr Bingham, individually before Christmas. Students are advised to keep an eye on their school email for appointment times. Parents will be able to see the Action Plan Mr Bingham prepares for them as soon as their interview is completed.

Any questions about progression after GCSEs, please talk to your son/daughter’s Head of House, or contact Dr Watson, who is in charge of the Sixth Form at OSA and also oversees careers work.
